The MLM & Direct Selling Industry Congress 2026 is the most authoritative gathering of the direct selling and multi-level marketing industry in South India, bringing together company founders, senior distributors, compliance officers, legal experts, and policy advocates for two days of strategic discussion, regulatory education, and business development at the Chennai Trade Centre.
India's direct selling industry has emerged as a powerhouse, generating over ₹21,000 Crore annually and supporting the livelihoods of over 8 million direct sellers across the country. The industry has been significantly shaped by the Consumer Protection (Direct Selling) Rules 2021, which brought much-needed regulatory clarity, defined pyramid scheme prohibitions, and established a framework for legitimate direct selling businesses. Understanding and navigating this regulatory environment is now essential for every company and distributor operating in this space.
The MLM & Direct Selling Congress is unique because it addresses both the business-building and the regulatory sides of the industry with equal depth. Too often, industry events focus exclusively on motivation and recruitment — neglecting the critical importance of compliance, product quality, ethical distributor practices, and sustainable compensation plan design. This congress takes a different approach: it treats direct selling professionals as serious business leaders deserving serious business education.
The day opens with a comprehensive overview of the 2021 Direct Selling Rules — what they require, how they have been enforced in the past three years, and anticipated regulatory changes in 2026-27. This session is presented by legal experts who have worked with the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and directly represented multiple direct selling companies in compliance matters.
The afternoon features panel discussions on compensation plan design — analyzing the difference between compliant and non-compliant plan structures, how to calculate distributor earnings disclosure (DED), and best practices for ensuring your plan does not inadvertently violate the prohibition on pyramid scheme structures. Company executives from three of India's top-5 direct selling companies share their compliance journeys.
Day 2 focuses on the business growth side of direct selling. Sessions include digital recruitment strategies for the post-COVID distributor, using social media compliantly (including what you can and cannot claim about income potential), building a culture of product-first selling in your downline, and managing a large distributor network across multiple states while maintaining ethical standards.
The technology showcase features companies offering MLM software platforms, distributor mobile apps, e-commerce integration tools for direct sellers, and AI-powered lead generation systems specifically designed for the direct selling channel. A dedicated session on international direct selling markets covers opportunities for Indian direct sellers in Southeast Asia, Middle East, and African markets.
The IDSA Excellence Awards will be presented at the Congress Gala Dinner on the evening of November 8. Awards categories include Company of the Year, Top Direct Seller Award, Innovation in Direct Selling, and the Compliance Champion Award — recognizing companies that have gone above and beyond in establishing ethical practices.
Delegate passes at ₹2,499 include both conference days, all materials, the gala dinner, and exhibition access. Corporate tables for company delegations of 10 are available at ₹20,000. Register before November 3, 2026 to take advantage of early bird pricing and secure accommodation at negotiated conference rates at the adjacent hotels.
